1. Lexington Salt Cave

3. Kentucky Native Café

Hidden away beneath the canopy of trees at Michler's Florist in downtown Lexington, this seasonal café feels more like a hidden woodland retreat than a restaurant. Kentucky Native Café serves up a rotating menu of mostly vegetarian fare, with fresh dishes sourced from the best locally grown seasonal ingredients. You’ll find thoughtfully crafted small plates, local beer and wine, and a relaxed atmosphere that will make you feel a world away from city life. In colder months, don’t miss their winter market, held inside the cozy greenhouse space.


4. Boone Creek Outdoors

Just a half-hour’s drive from city center, Boone Creek Outdoors offers a completely different perspective on the Bluegrass from 200 feet high. Go soaring above some of the state’s most scenic areas, with ziplines as long as 1,400 feet long. You’ll cross sky bridges and staircases, all while getting a thrilling crash course in the region’s rich history and unique ecosystem–including our region’s limestone bedrock. It’s the kind of adventure you have to experience to believe. And once you do, you’ll certainly never forget it.

 

5. Lussi Brown Coffee Bar

Lexington has plenty of amazing retailers, but none quite like Poppy & Pomelo. This independent boutique near Woodland Park is a haven of exquisite finds curated with a global eye and a local heart. The adjoining Wick + Mortar Studio is a pour-your-own candle bar offering classes and workshops with a full wine and cocktail menu. Feel like checking it out on a whim? No worries. 7. Tee Dee's Lounge

A longtime favorite among locals, Tee Dee’s Lounge is the East End homebase of Lexington blues legend Tee Dee Young. The guitar virtuoso and vocalist has been dazzling crowds at this laid-back community landmark for over 30 years, often with stellar guest artists. Under the radar and as authentic as it gets, Tee Dee’s Lounge is open on Monday nights only and the show starts around 8 p.m. If you're here on a Monday, catch two local legends and pair your Tee Dee’s visit with WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour, a live-recorded grassroots and Americana music show held Monday nights at the historic Lyric Theatre. The perfect excuse to extend your weekend stay an extra day.

 

8. Lexington Visitors Center
