What You Need To Know Before You Go
Only a short fifteen-minute drive from the heart of downtown, Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport makes traveling to and from our great city a breeze. With an easily walkable terminal and two concourses, it’s a convenient hub that can get you exactly where you want to go—and while we hate to see you go, you’ll love the view as you leave. There’s nothing quite like the birds-eye-view of Lexington’s rolling bluegrass hills and picturesque horse farms you can only get when flying in and out of Blue Grass Airport.
Airlines, Flights, & Terminals
Blue Grass Airport offers direct flights to 16 cities, making it easy to board connecting flights to destinations around the world. There are four airlines that fly out of Blue Grass Airport: Delta, American Airlines, United, and Allegiant.

Ground Transportation & Rental Cars
Rental Cars
Rental car service counters are located in the baggage claim area on the first level of the terminal. Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar Car Rental, Enterprise, Hertz, and National all offer their services at the Blue Grass Airport. For car reservations, please contact the rental car agencies directly.
Ground Transportation
Blue Grass Airport offers a variety of ways to get to and from the airport, including: a taxi service, buses & hotel vans, and ride sharing apps. For more information, check out Blue Grass Airport’s Ground Transportation page.
Parking
Visitors and passengers can choose from Short-Term, Long-Term and Valet Parking. Short-Term is a maximum of $16 per day (0-30 min. is free, 31-60 min is $2.00, and additional hours are $1.00 each,) Long-Term is $13 per day, and Valet Parking is $22 per day.
NOTE: The following major credit cards are accepted: Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Cash is not accepted.
Handicap Parking
Customers with Handicap placards may park in the Short-Term or Long-Term lots, and will only be charged the Long-Term Parking rate for the length of their stay.
NOTE: In order to receive the discount the customer must provide their placard, name, and phone number to the cashier upon exiting.

Blue Grass Airport is committed to providing exceptional customer service and accommodations to all guests regardless of ability. Here is some helpful information for travelers who may need additional assistance.
Restrooms
All airport restrooms have an extra-wide stall with side railings and are accessible to individuals with wheelchairs or walkers. A family/unisex restroom is available on the lower level of the terminal prior to the security checkpoint and also in Concourse B.
Service Animals & Pet Relief Areas
Service animals, who are trained to perform tasks for people with disabilities, are welcome throughout the terminal while assisting their owners. To provide service animals, and all pets, with a bathroom break prior to getting on a flight, visit LEX Pets on the lower level of Concourse A.
Wheelchair Assistance
Passengers seeking wheelchair assistance are encouraged to notify their airline when making flight arrangements. Upon arrival at the airport, passengers should go to their airline ticket counter for assistance.
Security & Recommended Arrival Time
TSA is open daily from 4:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m. All passengers must clear the security checkpoint before it closes, even if a flight is delayed. Passengers should arrive 90 minutes prior to their flight to allow enough time for parking, check-in, security screening, and boarding.
Nearby Airports
For the convenience of long-distance and international travelers, Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport is only about an hour drive from both the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and the Louisville Muhammed Ali International Airport (SDF.)
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG)
CVG is one of the region's leading airports, offering nonstop flights to 50+ destinations, including international cities like Toronto, Punta Cana, and Los Cabos. There are 14 airlines that fly out of CVG, giving you plenty of options to choose from.
Louisville Muhammed Ali International Airport (SDF)
SDF makes it easy to catch a flight to destinations from coast to coast, with direct flights to places like San Francisco, Boston, and Miami. There are eight airlines that fly out of SDF, so you’ll have some flexibility when making your travel plans.
