Reduce Food Waste

Did you know that one-third of all meeting planners surveyed shared that they throw away 15% of more of the food procured for their meetings? The Lex for Good Food Rescue Plan aims to provide options for excess food so that it doesn't go to the landfill. Reduce waste and support our community? It's a match made in Lex for Good heaven.

Guidelines

Food donations are federally protected by the 2023 Food Donation Improvement Act and the 1996 Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Act. The 2023 law ensure that food vendors who already practice safe food handling can efficiently and effectively donate surplus food to those in need.

Made sure to keep unused food refrigerated or maintained at a safe temperature. Package donated items securely, using disposable packaging that does not need to be returned.
