LEXINGTON, KY -- VisitLEX has made a significant impact on the travel industry, earning top honors at the Kentucky Travel Industry Association's Traverse Awards. The organization, representing more than 900 members across the Commonwealth, recognized VisitLEX with an Award of Distinction, for a total of 12 medals for its innovative marketing and public relations campaigns.
The KTIA Traverse Awards honor the talent, creativity, and effectiveness of its members’ marketing and public relations efforts.
VisitLEX earned the Award of Distinction - Division C for the Spring Campaign, Bet You Thought. This top honor, awarded to only one Convention Visitors Bureau per budget category, is one of the most coveted accolades presented at the event.
The public relations initiative, Hey Aliens! Look at Lexington Campaign won gold, was designed to highlight travel to Lexington in a fun way by highlighting STEM initiatives and education and the iconic Kentucky Horse Park, which generated global buzz. Featured in renowned media outlets like The Drew Barrymore Show, Forbes, USA TODAY, and ABC News, this initiative successfully put Lexington on the international map.
