For shoppers coming to Lexington, Hamburg Pavilion should be near the top of your list. With easy access to the interstate (just take Exit 108 off I-75, you can’t miss it), this giant outdoor mall has something for just about everyone. The entrances and parking areas are a little mazelike, but once you get the hang of the territory, you’ll find a huge selection of shops ranging from major discounters to smaller boutiques. And with plenty of drive-through and sit-down restaurants throughout the shopping center, you’ll be able to stay and shop all day before hitting the road again.

Here’s our guide to shopping, eating, playing and browsing your way through Hamburg.

Shopping: The Big Stores
Hamburg offers a high concentration of big-name retailers, which makes it a handy place to go to if you’re shopping for a bunch of people or have a long list. These stores--places like Target, Best Buy, At Home, Old Navy, Kohl’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Barnes and Noble, and PetSmart--make it easy to get everything on your list, no matter what you’re looking for. As a bonus, they’re easy to spot--and if you know where they are, it makes navigating your way through Hamburg much easier.

Shopping: Smaller Stores
Looking for a smaller shopping experience? Hamburg has plenty of shops for you, too. Browsing for a new outfit? Check out Altar’d State, Loft, White House Black Market or francesca’s for women’s fashion, or Jos. A Bank for suits. Bulking up your wardrobe of Kentucky gear? Try Wildcat Wearhouse, Kentucky Branded or Fan Outfitters. Looking for shoes for the whole family? Check out DSW, Off Broadway Shoes and Rack Room Shoes.

Play and Relax
Maybe you’re not a shopper--or maybe you just need a break from retail. Good news: you don’t have to go far to find a way to relax, recharge, or just have fun. Catch a movie at Regal Hamburg Pavilion--their screens go all the way up to IMAX size. Wear out the kids at the trampoline park at Adrenaline Entertainment Centers--it’s fun for grown-ups too, trust us. Need something a little less intense? Chill out at your choice of half a dozen nail and hair salons throughout Hamburg.

Grab a Drink and a Bite

Shopping is hard work for everybody. Thankfully, Hamburg offers lots of food and drink options for refueling. If you’re in a hurry, grab a smoothie at Grassroots Pharmacy or hit the drive-through at Steak n Shake, Fazoli’s, Qdoba or Culver’s. Have a little more time? Take a load off and enjoy a sit-down meal at Malone’s, Ted’s Montana Grill, Old Chicago, Tekka Japanese Grill & Sushi, Johnny Carino’s or Bonefish Grill. There’s something for every taste and options for even the pickiest family members.

No matter what you’re looking for, there’s a good chance you’ll find it at Hamburg. Swing on by next time you’re in the area! Looking for more Lexington shopping tips? Check out the rest of our shopping guides, directories and articles from Lexington locals.
