In the fall, Lexington's trees have colors that rival New England! When does it happen? That depends on the weather during the previous year, so it's hard to predict precisely. But fall is a wonderful time to visit whether you are in town when the colors hit their peak or not. Here are some special events and fall harvest festivals worth building a trip around. For many racing fans, fall means one thing: Keeneland. Each October in the Horse Capital of the World, Thoroughbred racing is showcased at the highest level, drawing the world's best horses and horsemen to one of the world's most beautiful race courses. Plan to be in Lexington in the fall and see racing as it was meant to be. General Admission is only $5 (children 12 and under are free) and gives you access to bench seating trackside. Reserved seats are individual seats with backs and arm rests, under cover. The cost for reserved seats ranges from $8 to $20 depending on the day.

Artists from Kentucky and all over the US will present beautiful works for the public to browse and purchase. There will be great food, music for your enjoyment, demonstrations and children's activities. Berea is just a 40-minute drive south of Lexington, and is known as Kentucky's Craft Capital. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under.

Come on out and experience family fun at its finest on this neatly kept farm in Versailles. Starting mid-September, there's a festival every weekend with activities for all ages! Pick your own pumpkin, take a hayride, navigate the corn maze, eat an apple cider donut or a piece of homemade pie, or take a breath-taking trip down their 90-foot slide.

When visiting AutumnFest at Bi-Water Farm, your family will have bushels of fun! There is a lot to see and do, including hayrides, a 5-acre corn maze, a Trike Track, and more. Pick up your favorite fruits and vegetables (including pumpkins!), fudge, jellies and jams from the Fall Farm market.

Throughout the fall, you'll find the Farm Market & Gift Store packed with tasty, locally grown fruits and vegetables, picked at the peak of perfection. At the Gift Store, be sure to sample the delicious, creamy homemade fudge, and try the apple cider donuts or perhaps a fried apple pie, along with a special glass of yummy apple cider! $8.00 Children's Admission to the Play Area & Barnyard. Children under 2 and adults are free with a paid children's admission. There is no general admission to enter the farm.
