                                     Winemaker Introduction

Robert Wonacott- a Native Californian, Bob’s career as a Petroleum Engineer took him around the world. While living in Perth, Western Australia he was introduced to the wineries and vineyards of Margaret River and Swan Valley. His work took him to the Netherlands where he spent his free time traveling through the wine regions of France and Germany.

Returning to the United States, Bob settled in Texas. In 2003, he began reading books on growing grapes and wine making. Then in 2008, Bob seized the opportunity to plant his own 25-acre vineyard- the first commercial vineyard in the Texas Panhandle and Northern most commercial winery in the state.

Completely consumed with the love of growing grapes and a desire to make wine, Bob studied at Oklahoma State University and Grayson Community College. He started Eperon Winery in 2010. He also started working with other vineyards and wineries in Texas.

In 2016, Bob moved to the Texas Hill Country to pursue consulting with several vineyards and wineries in the area. In 2018 he helped start Stoneledge winery, making their first two vintages. That same year he was hired as Cellarmaster at Flat Creek Estate prior to the 2018 harvest, while still making wine at Stoneledge. 2019 saw Bob making his first vintage at Flat Creek. He was promoted to Winemaker in 2020. He also oversaw Flat Creek’s estate 17 acre vineyard operations.

Bob’s wines have competed and won many prestigious medals in several U.S. competitions over the years.

 About Us:

Lovers Leap Vineyards & Winery is owned by David and Patty Sivinski along with President, Brian Sivinski. The Sivinski family is committed to producing some of the highest quality wines in the state of Kentucky.

The Lovers Leap vineyards were originally planted on our 60 acre farm in 1994 and consist of over 25 acres of grapes with 7 different varietals: White grape varieties are Vidal Blanc, Aromella and Vignoles. Red grape varieties are Cynthiana/Norton, Chambourcin, Crimson Cabernet and Petite Pearl.

We are often asked if we bring in grape varieties that we don't grow; the answer is "Yes." Our love and passion for wine expands out into the worldwide offering of wine grapes and we aspire to continuously bring in the highest quality grape varieties available. Currently, the  Lovers Leap Barrel aging facility houses wines made from grapes known all over the world. Slated for bottling within the next few years are: Tempranillo, Mourvèdre, Petite Sirah, Malbec, Merlot and Syrah, just to name a few. These wines as well as the reds we grow are aged in barrels made from American, Kentucky and French oak.

Our facilities consist of everything required to bring you the highest quality wines possible. We also have a large tasting room, a very cozy lounge and a 180 degree wrap around deck for our visitors .

While here, you can experience the entire wine making process from vine to bottle while being guided on a tour with a member of the winemaking team.  Enjoy a glass of wine as your tour guide explains and educates you about our wines and the winemaking process.  Our hospitality is only matched by the stunning views of the vineyard which comes right up to our front door.

We are eagerly await your arrival!
