VisitLEX announced today that official registration is open for the second annual Big LEX 4 Miler and the Bluegrass Trifecta. The Big LEX 4 Miler will take place at Keeneland Race Course on Saturday, May 23rd at 8 a.m. and is the first leg of the Bluegrass Trifecta.

Comprised of the BIG LEX 4 Miler, Bluegrass 10K and Midsummer Night’s Run, the Bluegrass Trifecta offers participants an opportunity to race several times throughout the summer and earn a commemorative medal.  There is special pricing for participants who register for all three races.

“Last year we were looking for a fun and healthy way to kick off the summer season," said Mary Quinn Ramer, president of VisitLEX, "and decided it would be great to partner with some friends who already produce some of Lexington’s most long-standing races to create a dynamic summer foot-race series. We were thrilled to have more than 820 competitors join us for the inaugural Big LEX 4 Miler and look forward to even more participants at this year’s event.”

The four-mile course takes participants through the historic and scenic landscape in and around Keeneland. There also will be a one-mile Fun Walk, Little LEX Kids 1K Run/Walk and Virtual Runner/Walker opportunity. Virtual runners/walkers can donate to the race and receive a commemorative race shirt and bib. Participants also will have the opportunity to enjoy a post-race celebration including a post-race massage and entertainment.

The entry fee for the Big LEX 4 Miler is $25 until February 29. Race day registration is $35. Bluegrass Trifecta pricing is $70 until January 31 and jumps to $120 for those who register for all three races on the day of the Big LEX Miler. There also are special prices for teams and a $10 refund for anyone who refers three people who sign up for the race using the unique registration link you'll receive when you register. Registration can be completed online at www.BigLEX4Miler.com or www.BluegrassTrifectaRaceSeries.com

Each year VisitLEX selects a charity to benefit from the Big LEX 4 Miler. The inaugural Big LEX 4 Miler benefitted Old Friends Farm with a donation of $5,200. The 2020 Big LEX 4 Miler will raise money for DV8 Kitchen.  DV8 Kitchen was developed and operates as a second chance employment opportunity for people who are trying to redirect their lives. People in the early stages of substance abuse recovery often find it difficult to find employers willing to take a chance on them. Employment at DV8 Kitchen can lead to a lifetime ability to gain and maintain employment and deviate from their past lifestyle.

In addition to VisitLEX, other sponsors are Keeneland, Race Rise and Sword Performance Hydration.
