LEXINGTON, KY  – Lexington Restaurant Week® organizers announced today its 11-night return July 22 – August 1, 2021. The event, held since 2013, promotes fixed-price limited-time specials at restaurants in the Lexington area during the celebration. Up to 60 restaurants are expected to participate in the event, which drives some of the highest volume nights of the year for the businesses while allowing diners to sample a range of culinary options at set prices of $19, $29 and $39.

Lexington Restaurant Week® is the only city-wide event where Lexington’s most popular restaurants unite  - from high end to more casual fare Restaurant Week Specials are exemplary of what has made each successful. Diverse three-course dinners are served up for 11 nights, July 22 to August 1.  New this year is the option to choose from three prices vs. two in the past.  Higher-end restaurants will serve three-course dinners for $39 while many others will have $29 and $19 multi-course options. Menus will be listed on LexingtonRestaurantWeek.com as they are submitted.

The event is adding LexArts into the mix as well this year giving $2 for each special sold to six major arts organizations, delivering funding for artists, another group hard-hit by the pandemic. Benefitting from Lexington Restaurant Week® 2021will be Carnegie Center, Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra, Lexington Art League, Lexington Children’s Theater, Lexington Philharmonic and Living Arts and Science Center.

The event paused its annual schedule in 2020 due to COVID, and while restaurants are not back to full capacity yet with challenges remaining on hiring and many other fronts, Connie Jo Miller, event orchestrator is optimistic, “these hard working, enterprising restaurateurs are climbing back – with a little more time and a lot of us encouraging vaccinations, we hope to hit the Governor’s goal of 2.5 million  vaccinated by late summer – I believe our restaurants will be ready for a big celebration by our start date of July 22nd”. 

The pandemic’s impact on local restaurants was deep and significant taking a hard hit that resonated throughout the economy and affected restaurant staff and diners alike.
