The resort’s comprehensive $30-million renovation revitalizes the upscale resort and welcomes guests to indulge in the amenities and experience the genuine spirit of Lexington.

Lexington, KY -- The Lexington Marriott Griffin Gate Golf Resort & Spa is thrilled to announce the completion of its $30-million renovation, which began June 2020 and finished on November 15, 2021. The hotel is owned by Highline Hospitality Partners LLC and operated by Aimbridge Hospitality.

The resort’s comprehensive renovation touched nearly every space on property – including the guest rooms, presidential suites, conference and meetings rooms, lobby space, front entrance, atrium, spa, outdoor pool, fitness center, golf clubhouse, restaurant and restrooms. Additionally, the property added three pickleball courts and Café Lex, which proudly serves Starbucks and small bites in the lobby.

Guest room upgrades include marble showers, luxury tile, barn doors, and walk-in showers in King rooms. The newly revamped Spa features design by Pottery Barn and the previous hotel atrium was converted into a bourbon-tasting loft with animatic bourbon and wine machines. Guests will also enjoy a complete renovation of the outdoor pool deck, new poolside cabanas, and 7 new fire pits with s’mores kits.

The new entrance and valet area are now named “Champions Circle,” which features Lexington area horse farms that have produced Triple Crown winners dating back to 1917. In addition, a wind sculpture art installation is now featured in the front entrance by Lyman Whitaker Gallery out of Sedona, AZ. The resort is known for its Rees Jones designed golf course and ideal location in the “Horse Capital of the World,” near Keeneland Race Track and Kentucky Horse Park.

Paying homage to Lexington horse farms, the 7th floor redesigned suites are now named after the most distinguished horse farms in the area - Poplar Hill, Hamburg Place, Keeneland, Walmac, Mandysland, and Ashford.
