Old Fort Harrod State Park

100 South College Street, Harrodsburg, KY 40330

This reconstructed pioneer fort commemorates the first permanent settlement west of the Alleghenies, built by James Harrod near this site in 1774. The cabins include authentic pioneer furniture and crafts people in pioneer dress demonstrate such skills as blacksmithing, quilting and doll making. The park also includes a pioneer cemetery, the Mansion Museum with Civil War and Native American displays, and the cabin in which Abraham Lincoln's parents were married.
