Kentucky Theatre
-
The Kentucky Theatre opened in October 1922 and was the largest of the Lexington palace theatre houses. It featured ornate Italianate Renaissance architecture and sported a 4,000 bulb marquee. On opening night, Kentucky Governor Edwin P. Morrow led the singing of My Old Kentucky Home. It was renovated in the 1950s and again in the 1980s after a fire caused heavy damage.
