Mavericks on Saturday, March 9th at the Singletary Center for the Arts celebrates the independent spirit, individuality, courage, and innovation of artists. The concert begins at 7:30 PM with the Kentucky premieres of the two co-commissioned works Cold Mountain Suite by Jennifer Higdon and then Bohemian Queen by Clarice Assad featuring trumpet soloist Mary Elizabeth Bowden. The program concludes with Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s audience-favorite Symphony No. 4 which evokes strong emotion and breaks the “compositional mold”. Prior to Mavericks, join us for a free pre-concert lecture with Music Director Mélisse Brunet for an exclusive, in-depth look at Inside the Score at 6:30 PM in the Presidents Room. Seating is limited, so arrive early!
