Each year, a special tree is selected from a U.S. National Forest to serve as The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree which lights up the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. for the holiday season. This 55-year tradition is making a “whistlestop” in Lexington on its way from Nevada to D.C. Gatton Park will serve as the host location for this stop. Come to the park to see this year’s tree, Silver Belle, in-person and enjoy festive entertainment and activities including:
  • Live Performances: Enjoy festive music from the Lexington Ringers and Lexington Singers.
  • Arts & Crafts: Create a memorable keepsake with On the Move Art Studio.
  • Food & Drinks: Grab a treat from Cèleste Coffee or Say Cheese Food Truck, both on site throughout the event.
  • Support Local Pets: The Lexington Humane Society will be collecting pet-related donations, including food, treats, and toys.
  • Travel Banner Signing: Leave your mark on our interactive tree by signing the travel banner.
  • Forestry Education & Giveaways: Learn about sustainable forestry practices and receive special giveaways from industry experts.
