Purchase a Pass for Four of Lexington's Museums

The cool winter months are the perfect time to explore some of Lexington's fascinating museums. Through March, you can purchase a museum pass at the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau for just $20!

The Museum Pass includes admission into the following Lexington area museums:

International Museum of the Horse
Located on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park, the Smithsonian-affiliated International Museum of the Horse is the largest and most comprehensive museum in the world dedicated to exploring the important history of all horses and their impact on human civilization. Visitors to the International Museum of the Horse can explore The Horse, the largest equestrian traveling exhibition ever assembled. This special exhibition showcases spectacular fossils, models, dioramas, and cultural objects from around the world, including many from the American Museum of Natural History's world famous collections.

Headley-Whitney Museum
Founded by prominent 20th century jewelry designer, George W. Headley III, the Headley-Whitney Museum features decorative arts including permanent displays of Headley's work, an intricate dollhouse, bibelots, and the shell grotto, in addition to traveling exhibitions. Just six miles from downtown Lexington on beautiful Old Frankfort Pike at La Bella Farm, the Headley Whitney Museum is a delight to all who visit. Through March the Headley-Whitney Museum is hosting From Within the Emperor's Garden - The Ten Thousand Springs Pavilion, on loan from the Smithsonian Institution.

Lexington History Museum
The Lexington History Museum is housed in the old Fayette County courthouse, a beautiful example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture in downtown Lexington. Discover Lexington's past by exploring these permanent exhibits: Athens's of the West, In Black and White, Lexington During the Civil War, and Lincoln and his Wife's Hometown. Throughout the winter, the Lexington History Museum will host an exhibit entitled Lexington's Greatest Generation, a look at life in Lexington during WWII.

The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky
The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky maintains a collection of more than 4,500 objects, including American and European paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, and sculpture, as well as holdings in art of the Americas, Africa, and Asia. In addition to a variety of changing exhibitions, the Art Museum provides lectures and programming as well as special events which are open to the public.
