The original site of Daniel Boone's settlement, Ft Boonesboro State Park has a working fort complete with cabins, blockhouses, and furnishings, where 18th century life skills and period craft demonstrations are brought to life. In addition to the fort, the park has Kentucky River access for boating, great look-out spots for wild turkey, some short hiking trails, and fishing opportunities! Campground is open year-round.
