Hats Off to Horses by: Julie, Horse Blogger

BREEZE THE BLUEGRASS: Saturday, August 4, is Hats Off Day at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.  Hats Off Day celebrates the equine industry in Kentucky.  The afternoon begins at 4pm with free admission and lots of activities, including a free hat giveaway.  The hats are provided by the numerous equine farms, companies and organizations that help keep Kentucky the Horse Capital of the World. Along with the regular Horse Park shows and attractions, you can watch the Rood and Riddle Kentucky Grand Prix, worth $50,000 in prize money for top-of-the-line show jumpers.

Horseracing resumes October 5 through 27 at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington.  Friday, October 5 through Sunday, October 7, is Fall Stars Weekend, featuring nine stakes races worth more than $3 million in total purses.  Friday, October 12, is College Scholarship Day.  Tickets can now be purchased for reserved seating in the three restaurants:  The Lexington/Kentucky Room, Phoenix Room and the Equestrian Room.  Tickets may now also be purchased for reserved seats in the grandstand.
