VisitLEX earns several awards at state tourism conference
Lexington, Ky. - VisitLEX earned several awards at the Kentucky Travel Industry Association (KTIA) fall conference, which was held November 1-3 in Lexington, Ky.
The KTIA Traverse Awards honor the talent, creativity and effectiveness of its members' marketing and public relations efforts.
VisitLEX was awarded the following:
• Gold: 2016 Beyond Grits Guide, Facebook Staycation campaign, Brand Pillar Destination Videos;
• Silver: Instagram, Facebook, video & overall social strategy; and
• Bronze: Stop-Motion Holiday Card, Gold Frame Airport Instillation, Gold Frame Print Concept, 2016 Visitors Guide and Garden Architecture Tour Brochure
"We are gratified to receive these awards in recognition of our efforts to attract tourism, which has a $3 billion impact in our region and a $13.7 billion impact statewide," said Mary Quinn Ramer, president of VisitLEX. "The awards are a reflection of a talented and dedicated VisitLEX staff working collaboratively with Cornett's creative team, and, more importantly, a validation of the exciting travel and entertainment opportunities in our community for visitors and residents alike."
Each year KTIA honors a new member of the statewide tourism industry with their Rookie of the Year award. VisitLEX is proud to announce Erin Hilton was selected as 2016 Rookie of the Year. Erin was hired at VisitLEX last fall as project manager with primary responsibilities including Beyond Grits culinary initiative, Jefferson Street Soiree and management of the Brewgrass Trail.

She joined VisitLEX after 12 years at Lexington Catholic High School as the director of marketing and communications. Although Erin joined our team without prior tourism experience, she has quickly made an impact on Lexington tourism with her drive to learn and her extensive marketing and community building experience. Her smile, laugh and personality make you instantly want to be her friend. She never says no to a project, and always over-delivers."
A panel of unbiased and impartial marketing, public relations and tourism professionals whose work is conducted outside of Kentucky judged the entries.
