Lexington, Kentucky-VisitLEX is pleased to announce that Mary Quinn Ramer has been named president of the organization. Ramer was the unanimous choice of the Commission according to Ron Tritschler, chairman of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Tourist and Convention Commission (Commission).

As president Ramer will be responsible for the overall management of VisitLEX, including oversight of all administrative, financial and operating functions; sales functions; marketing functions; and government relations in order to promote Lexington and the Bluegrass Region to local, state, national and international audiences.

Ron Tritschler, VisitLEX Chairman, stated: "It is with great enthusiasm and pleasure that upon completion of our nationwide search, we announce the selection of Mary Quinn, a veteran of VisitLEX, the new President of this influential organization. Mary Quinn's knowledge of the tourism industry, our community, and state leaders made her the ideal choice for the role of president." We are confident in her ability to lead as she has garnered numerous accolades for VisitLEX in her previous role."

Mary Quinn joined the VisitLEX staff in 2007 as the Vice President of Tourism Marketing and in 2013 was promoted to Vice President of Marketing, expanding her responsibilities to include oversight of marketing efforts for the convention and sales markets. In her tenure at VisitLEX, Ramer has been actively involved with the rebranding of the organization and the development of a new visitor center in the downtown core.

"Mary Quinn will take VisitLEX to the next level," Mayor Jim Gray said. "She will bring visitors, and through them new businesses and opportunities, to our city. Thanks and congratulations to the board members, who recognized Mary Quinn's outstanding leadership abilities. "

"I am deeply honored to have been selected to lead VisitLEX. I am passionate about the tourism product in Lexington and believe our industry is vital to the overall success of the local and state economy. I look forward to further developing our world-class destination while working with elected leaders throughout the state to ensure long-term support of the industry in the Commonwealth," said Ramer.

Ramer, a Danville native, is a 1998 graduate of Centre College.
