A Tribute to Preservation and Tourism in the Bluegrass Region

You've been looking forward to it all year, and now it's almost here! The Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau is pleased to invite residents of the Bluegrass Region* to take time, relax, and enjoy your own hometown during the 5th annual Take Pride in the Bluegrass celebration. Scroll down for all the info!
(Did you see the special pull-out section in the Lexington Herald-Leader on Wednesday, May 7? It was inside the Value Leader.)

Special Events
Lexington's historic preservation community is celebrating Preservation Week at the same time the tourism community is celebrating National Tourism Week. Our success as a tourism destination is closely linked to the ongoing efforts of the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) Historic Preservation Commission, the Blue Grass Trust, the Downtown Lexington Corporation and many other hardworking organizations and individuals. Here is a daily schedule of special tourism and preservation events for Take Pride in the Bluegrass. Some events require an advance reservation and have limited seating. Please call the number listed, and call soon! Click here for details. To see only those special events that include transportation, click here.

Free Attractions
Rediscover the historic sites, picturesque countryside and unique attractions that inspired National Geographic Traveler to highlight Lexington in their "50 Places of a Lifetime" special issue. These Bluegrass attractions are opening their doors free of charge to residents of the Bluegrass Region* during Take Pride in the Bluegrass. Just pick up your "Bluegrass Passport" at the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau or your local tourism office after April 27, or at any participating attraction on the day of your visit. Not all attractions are open daily, so you'll want to call ahead to confirm days and hours of operation. Click here for details.

Discounted Attractions
These attractions are offering special promotions during Take Pride in the Bluegrass for residents of the Bluegrass Region*. Take advantage of this opportunity for your family to explore some of the Region's major attractions, at a very affordable price! Click here for details.
